Privacy policy

SimpleFind helps you choose products by ranking them against what matters to you. We collect as little personal data as we can, we never sell it, and we don't use advertising trackers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who we are
SimpleFind is operated by Allan Napier, trading as Codebotiks, 5 Baileyfield Park Drive, Bonnyrigg, EH19 2BF, Scotland, the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about anything in this policy at hello@simplefind.co.uk.
What we collect and why

We don't ask for your name, we don't create accounts yet, and we don't collect special category data. Our product scores are made from product information only; no personal data is sent to the AI model that scores products.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data or share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers (processors) who handle data only on our instructions:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, content delivery, security and our application servers (Western Europe).
- Neon (part of Databricks): our database, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Our email provider: when we send waitlist emails, we will name the provider here before the first send.
When you click through to a retailer, you leave SimpleFind and the retailer's own privacy policy applies. Affiliate networks and retailers (for example Amazon) may use cookies on their sites to record that you arrived from us.
International transfers
Our database is in the EU, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection. Our providers may process limited data outside the UK and EU; where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to another service. You can withdraw consent to emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing hello@simplefind.co.uk. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to what's needed to run SimpleFind, and our admin tools are protected by access tokens.
Children
SimpleFind isn't aimed at children, and the waitlist is for people aged 16 or over.
Cookies and local storage
See our cookie policy. In short: this website sets no cookies, and the app preview uses your browser's local storage only for the features described there.
Changes
We'll update this page if anything changes and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we'll tell you by email first.
